The educators at Lakeview Learning Center understand the importance of providing the guidance and support necessary for students to develop the skills that will help them function successfully within the community. Lakeview Learning Center offers learning experiences that help develop interests in areas that will serve them later in life. In conjunction with the sending district, Lakeview Learning Center also provides transitional planning services to assist students as they prepare for the future. The goal is always to help each student to reach his or her full potential in order to participate meaningfully in life and become a productive and responsible adult.
Providing Behavior Management Systems
Lakeview Learning Center utilizes a comprehensive behavior management system designed to promote positive behavior choices. Such a behavior management system was developed out of the necessity to provide a framework within which students can learn and demonstrate appropriate behavior throughout the school day and everyday life. The behavior management system is monitored by our professional staff on a regular basis. Students earn points throughout the school day during instructional periods, homeroom/hallway, and lunch for behaving appropriately in categories such as being on time to class, following staff directions, use of appropriate language, and group interaction.
Field Trips We Offer
Students may use earned points for the privilege of attending a reward field trip or special outing, and points can be redeemed for merchandise at the Lakeview School Store. Field trips additionally provide the opportunity for students to develop, practice, and refine social skills in a real-life environment outside of the traditional school setting. Students qualifying for reward trips offer their input on the destination, and we try to accommodate their requests whenever possible.
