We provide an NJDOE certified teaching staff in all academic and career/technical subject areas. In addition, most of our staff have advanced degrees.
Heading up our staff as Supervisor of Special Education is Jacqueline Swanson. She has been on the Lakeview Learning Center staff since 1990, starting as a special education classroom teacher. Jacqueline's educational background includes a B.A. in psychology from Rutgers College/Rutgers University, where she was elected into Psi Chi, an honorary society for psychology majors. While at Rutgers, she completed her secondary field requirements in natural/physical and mathematical sciences. She earned an M.A. degree in special education at New Jersey City University, an M.A. in educational psychology and Professional Diploma in School Psychology from Kean University, and an M.A. in educational administration also from Kean University. She holds Teacher of the Handicapped, School Psychologist, Supervisor, Principal, and Chief School Administrator certifications. She is highly qualified to teach English, social studies, math, and science.
joined the Lakeview staff in 1996. He earned his B.A. in English from Rutgers College/Rutgers University and an M.A. in Special Education from New Jersey City University. Don has also completed post-graduate studies in art education at NJCU. Not only is he a certified Teacher of English, but in addition holds a Teacher of the Handicapped certification and is highly qualified to teach English, social studies, art, and Spanish.
is our social studies teacher and has been on board since 2019. She graduated from the College of Saint Elizabeth with a degree in history and holds teaching certificates in Social Studies and Teacher of the Handicapped. Meg has her M.S. in Education with a focus on Curriculum and Design from Walden University.
is our cosmetology teacher. She began her employment at Lakeview Learning Center in 2016. Breanne has a true passion for the beauty industry. She attended cosmetology school at Capri Institute and subsequently worked in a hair salon in Hasbrouck Heights. She loved beauty school so much that she decided to continue her education and begin the teacher training program to empower upcoming students in the profession. She began her teaching career at Capri Institute and worked there for a little shy of nine years. Breanne obtained her teaching certificate through NJCU. She teaches cosmetology at Lakeview Learning Center where she provides an exciting opportunity for the students.
is our school social worker. She earned her Associate Degree in Early Childhood/Special Education at Hudson County Community College. Gabriela continued her undergraduate studies in psychology and received her B.A. in Psychology from NJCU. She continued her studies at Rutgers University and earned her MSW. She began her professional career after earning her MSW working with at-risk adolescents who suffered from trauma, worked with DCPP as a Substance Abuse Assessment Counselor, private tutor for children with autism spectrum disorder, and counseling children and families for Hackensack Meridian Health.
Our school secretary has been with us for over 25 years and runs the front office. It goes to say that the daily operation not only runs well but with a smile.
is a certified special education and math teacher. He joined Lakeview Learning Center in 2013 as our math teacher and has been teaching and/or private tutoring math since 1994. He received his B.S. in civil engineering from the University of Connecticut. His graduate studies began at Eastern Connecticut State University, and he has received his M.A. in special education at New Jersey City University. He is certified to teach math in both Connecticut and New Jersey.
has been with Lakeview Learning Center for over 20 years. He has received an A.A. degree in culinary arts and a B.S. in food service management from Johnson & Wales University. He has also earned an M.A. in special education from New Jersey City University. He is a certified teacher of the handicapped and highly qualified in the areas of English, math, science, history, culinary arts, and foodservice management. George is presently the coordinator and instructor of our culinary arts program. He brings Lakeview his experience as a teacher and as an owner/operator in the restaurant industry to our campus in our very own culinary arts lab environment.
